Blanca Martinez, Assistant Principal
| I am originally from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. I graduated from Memorial High School in 1987. I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Special Education and Spanish. In 2002, I earned a Masters Degree in Bilingual Education with a GT endorsement from UT-Pan American. I'm also a Master Reading Teacher and hold a Principal Certificate. I have been working as an educator since 1994. This is my eighth year at Sharyland ISD and my 29th year in education. I am very proud to be part of the Harry Shimotsu TEAM. I'm looking forward to a very successful school year for all our scholars and for our staff.

Dear Shimotsu Family, I am truly honored and blessed to be part of the Shimotsu Family where Excellence is our tradition. I am excited to begin the 2022-2023 SY where we will continue to provide the best education experience to all students in our campus. My goal as Assistant Principal is to provide the leadership that will continue to facilitate a school environment that is safe and respectable, in order for your child to receive the best possible academic instruction. It is also important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents-are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year. I look forward to working with you as a team to help each student at Harry Shimotsu Elementary meet their goals and have a successful school year!

Estimada Familia de Shimotsu, es para mi un honor para mi ser parte de la Familia de Shimotsu donde la EXCELENCIA es nuestra meta. Continuaré haciendo todo mi esfuerzo para proveer a sus hijos el mejor nivel educativo posible. Mi meta como subdirectora es ser un líder que pueda asegurar que el entorno escolar de nuestra escuela continue siendo seguro y respetable para que sus hijos reciban la mejor educación posible. Es tambien de suma importancia para mi, que todos los visitantes a nuestra escuela, incluyendo maestros, padres y alumnos se sientan felices en nuestro plantel y de formar parte de la Familia de Shimotsu. Esta actitud nos ayudara a cumplir con nuestras metas académicas en un ambiente positivo y divertido.
