Erickson, Elizabeth - 1st grade

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. E. Erickson

Hello, Nice to meet you!

I am originally from Michigan. I moved to the Rio Grande Valley with my husband in 2009. We have two sons, Ian and Craig, they both attend school here at Shimotsu. As a family we enjoy hiking, bike riding, camping, and traveling. We also love visiting family in Michigan, England, and Scotland.

I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I majored in Mathematics and minored in Early Childhood and Language Arts. Before moving to the RGV I was a teacher at Flint Community Schools for 4 years. I then taught for McAllen ISD for 2 years before staying home to raise our family. When my children started school I decided to return to work as a substitute teacher and tutor. I have been employed by Sharyland ISD for the past 3 years. Last year I was a long-term substitute spending half the year in second grade, and the other half in fourth grade.
This is my first year returning to a full-time position. I am so excited to be teaching again.
