Hinojosa, Elizabeth

Hello,
My name is Lisa Hinojosa. I was born and raised here in the Rio Grande Valley.  This has and will always be home to me.  Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to become a teacher.  I grew up and started college and at one point, I just stopped going.  I always regretted not finishing my education.  I worked in retail for quite a few years as a store manager. I loved my job, but I always felt something was missing. I decided to go back and finish what I had started many years ago.   I graduated from University of Texas at Pan Am in 2001.  I'm presently a Kindergarten teacher at Shimotsu Elementary.  I have worked for the Sharyland School District for the past 12 years and I am proud to say I work for such an outstanding school district.

I love teaching Kindergarten.  I love to see how a child changes in such a short time. Many Kindergarteners start the year not even able to hold a pencil properly and they finish the year reading and writing.  It's Amazing how much growth happens during the school year.

I have been married for 25  years to a wonderful man. We have been blessed with 3 lovely daughters. Janell is 22 years old and is now in college, Gabby is 17 years old and in High School and my baby, Nicole, 15, is a Sophmore this year.

If you need to contact me, you may call the school or email me at:
