I am so excited for another year as your librarian! I cannot wait to start implementing new and exciting ideas once again as I have tried to do in my 17 years here at Harry Shimotsu Elementary. Every year is a new experience and I try to challenge myself in bringing fresh creative ideas to my students. As a Sharyland ISD graduate, it gives me great pride to come back to where it feels like home.
I have always had a heart to teach; which is why I pursued a degree in Bilingual Education at my alma mater the University of Texas Pan American where I graduated in 2007 Magna cum laude. I have completed my Master's in Library Science this year from Texas Woman's University. I continue to look for professional opportunities that will help me engage all students in the love of reading and become life-long learners.
